Becoming A Godly Woman

Likewise, teach the older women to live reverent lives, not to be slanderers or addicted too much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.” (Titus 2:35 NIV)

Becoming a Godly Woman introduces the spiritual problem of not being able to live the truths we believe, plus practical ways to understand the dimensions of the problem.

As mature Christian women, we are called to lead a reverent life: to be like Jesus in our actions and attitudes, to release bad relational habits and fear, and to walk in the freedom of forgiveness.

As mature Christian women, we can speak the truth in love. When our hearts are filled with the love of Jesus, we can speak more like Him.

As mature Christian women, we can learn to handle our pain with the help of the Lord rather than through addictions and other forms of escaping reality, like responding in anger, or with criticism and childish behavior. We can, like Jesus, choose to forgive, surrender in faith to God, and pray with trusted friends. Forgiveness is the key to freedom from bitterness and pain.

Women who have learned to put these principles into practice in their lives can then be examples and encouragers of younger women who are growing in their faith. We may have many spheres of activity and influence, but the most important is being able to live what we believe at home.
